Jameson Taillon has shared his thoughts on his departure from the Chicago Cubs, explaining that the partnership ended after a season marked by difficulties and mixed results.

After being designated for assignment in late July, Taillon noted that both he and the organization had exhausted their options, with his performance declining significantly to a 5.92 ERA over 15 starts this season. He acknowledged that injuries and a hamstring strain earlier in the year limited his effectiveness.

Taillon, who had signed a four-year, $68 million contract with the Cubs, has since joined the Toronto Blue Jays, where he is working on improving his pitching. In his first game with Toronto, he showed signs of improvement, increasing the velocity of his cutter. The Cubs absorbed a significant portion of his remaining salary, indicating their decision to move forward.
