Jamie Benson and James McNabney Receive First Ireland Call-Ups
Jamie Benson and James McNabney, both players from Ulster, have been called up to represent Ireland for the first time in the Nations Championship matches scheduled for November.
Benson, who can play as a fly-half or centre, joined Ulster from Harlequins this summer and is eligible to play for Ireland through his mother, who is from Belfast. McNabney, a back row player, has previously been part of Ireland's training squads and has returned to play after recovering from an ACL injury.
Head coach Andy Farrell is managing a significant injury list, including captain Caelan Doris and fly-half Jack Crowley. Dan Sheehan will take over as captain in Doris's absence. Ireland's upcoming matches include games against Argentina, Fiji, and South Africa at various venues.
