Jaqueline Amorim Receives Six-Month Suspension After Positive Drug Test
UFC fighter Jaqueline Amorim has been handed a six-month suspension following a positive drug test for ostarine, a banned substance. The suspension is effective from the date of her second positive test on August 17, 2023, making her eligible to return to competition on February 17, 2027.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist's positive tests were conducted during out-of-competition screenings on July 29 and August 17. An investigation by the Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) program indicated that the positive result was likely due to contamination from a supplement rather than intentional use.
Amorim, currently ranked No. 13 in the UFC women's strawweight division, has had a successful career since her debut, winning five of her six fights, including a recent victory over Loma Lookboonmee. The strawweight division continues to evolve with new contenders emerging.
