Jared Goff Approaches Milestone as Lions Prepare for Vikings

Jared Goff, the quarterback for the Detroit Lions, is nearing a significant milestone that would place him among the NFL's most efficient quarterbacks. He requires just 212 passing yards without an interception to achieve 2,000 yards before throwing his first pick of the 2026 season.

As of Week 8, Goff has accumulated 1,788 passing yards, 14 touchdown passes, and no interceptions. Achieving this milestone would make him the fourth quarterback since 1980 to reach 2,000 yards without a turnover, joining the ranks of Alex Smith, Bernie Kosar, and Patrick Mahomes.

Goff's performance has been crucial for the Lions, who are averaging 30.7 points per game, the second-highest in the league. However, they face a tough challenge against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings, known for their strong defense. Goff's ability to maintain ball security while effectively managing the game will be vital for the Lions' success in this matchup.
