Jay Rodgers Joins ARD Program Following DUI Charge
Penn State men's basketball guard Jay Rodgers has been accepted into an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program due to a DUI incident that occurred in June. This decision was made by Centre County Judge Julia Rater on October 7.
As part of the program, Rodgers will be supervised by Centre County Adult Probation and Parole for the next year. He is required to complete an Alcohol Safe Driving Course, perform 10 days of community service, and abstain from alcohol consumption. Additionally, he faces a 60-day suspension of his driver's license and must follow any treatment recommendations from a drug and alcohol evaluation.
If he successfully completes the probation, his charges may be dismissed and expunged; however, failure to comply could result in prosecution. Rodgers was charged after a police stop in August, following a near collision with a motorcycle, where he exhibited signs of intoxication.
