Jayco-AlUla and Picnic-PostNL Miss UCI Deadline for 2027 WorldTour Licenses
Two cycling teams, Jayco-AlUla and Picnic-PostNL, did not submit the necessary documents by the UCI's October 15 deadline for 2027 WorldTour licenses. This failure affects both their men's and women's teams, as confirmed by the UCI.
The missed deadline means their applications are incomplete, which could allow riders to terminate their contracts early. However, both teams still have the opportunity to submit the required paperwork and bank guarantees before the registration process concludes, with the final list of registered teams set to be published on December 8.
While Picnic-PostNL has faced scrutiny over its team environment, there has been no official comment regarding its future plans. In contrast, Jayco-AlUla appears to be in a more stable position, with reports of a new co-sponsor potentially securing its future for the next five years. The UCI has not clarified the implications if there are remaining vacancies in the 18-team men's WorldTour.
