Jayden Daniels Accepts Blame for Commanders' Overtime Clock Mismanagement
Jayden Daniels acknowledged his role in the Washington Commanders' final play mishap during overtime against the New York Giants on Sunday, which resulted in a missed opportunity to secure a victory.
With the Commanders positioned at the Giants' 24-yard line and time running out, they failed to get kicker Drew Stevens onto the field before the clock expired, ending the game in a 27-27 tie. Daniels attempted a quick throw with 12 seconds left but was tackled for no gain, preventing a spike to stop the clock.
Head coach Dan Quinn also took responsibility for the situation, emphasizing the need to stop the clock rather than pursue additional yardage. The Commanders, now with a record of 1-3-1, will face the San Francisco 49ers next Monday night.
