Jayden Daniels Addresses LSU Jersey Number Controversy
Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has chosen not to discuss his ongoing dispute with LSU regarding the retirement of his jersey number. Daniels is particularly upset that the No. 5 jersey he wore at LSU is currently being used by cornerback DJ Pickett.
During a recent practice, Daniels declined to elaborate on his legal team's request for LSU to stop using his name, image, and likeness. He stated that he had already addressed the matter in a prior Instagram post, where he expressed gratitude for his time at LSU and emphasized his focus on training camp with the Commanders.
In his Instagram statement, Daniels acknowledged the need for resolution between his team and LSU but reiterated that his primary concern is his performance with the Commanders. He expressed disappointment that his jersey number will be worn this season, as he believes it should honor his achievements as a Heisman Trophy winner.
