Jayden James Wins Silver at U23 World Championships
At the U23 World Championships held in Las Vegas, Penn State wrestler Jayden James earned a silver medal, contributing to a three-member team from the university. This achievement follows his earlier silver medal win at the U20 Championships in Kazakhstan last month.
James showcased strong performances throughout the tournament, reaching the finals after dominating his earlier matches. However, despite leading 3-0 at halftime in the final, he ultimately lost after conceding five consecutive points, finishing with the silver medal.
Other Penn State wrestlers Luke Lilledahl and Joe Sealey participated but faced challenges, with Lilledahl exiting in the bronze medal match. The offseason freestyle circuit will continue with the Senior World Championships scheduled for October 24 to November 1 in Astana, Kazakhstan, where five Penn State-affiliated wrestlers are set to compete.
