Jazz Chisholm Jr. Expresses Desire to Remain with Yankees
Jazz Chisholm Jr. has expressed his desire to stay with the New York Yankees as he approaches free agency. The Yankees secured a playoff spot this season, winning 93 games, but were eliminated in the ALDS after being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Chisholm, a two-time All-Star, faced difficulties this season, both offensively and defensively, particularly during the playoffs where he was left out of the starting lineup for two games. His performance dipped significantly compared to the previous year, with his batting average falling from .242 to .231 and his home runs decreasing from 30 to 19.
Despite these challenges, Chisholm remains hopeful about his future with the Yankees. However, it is uncertain whether the team will extend a qualifying offer to him, as they did with another player last offseason, which did not yield positive results. If Chisholm does not return, the Yankees will need to find a replacement for the second base position.
