JBL Discusses WWE Talent Cuts and Releases

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield, known as JBL, recently shared his views on the company's talent cuts and releases during an episode of Something to Wrestle. He addressed the ongoing discussions surrounding wrestler salaries and contracts, particularly in light of recent events in the wrestling industry.

JBL noted that WWE invests significantly in its talent, taking risks on many individuals. He expressed that he does not have an issue with the cuts, emphasizing that salaries are a matter of negotiation. He acknowledged that while young wrestlers may feel underpaid, the compensation they receive for training is substantial compared to his own early career.

Reflecting on the differences between past and present, JBL remarked that the financial conditions for new talent today are much better than when he started. He mentioned that starting salaries in WWE's developmental program, such as NXT, are quite favorable, which he believes justifies the company's approach to managing talent investments.
