Jed Bews Joins West Coast Eagles' WAFL Team After Leaving Geelong

Former Geelong defender Jed Bews will play for the West Coast Eagles' WAFL side after being delisted, reuniting with ex-teammate Mitch Duncan.

Jed Bews, a former defender for Geelong, is set to join the West Coast Eagles' WAFL team this off-season after being delisted. The 32-year-old's move to Western Australia was reported by Seven West and will see him reconnect with Mitch Duncan, a former teammate and current assistant coach for the Eagles.

Bews was drafted by Geelong in 2011 and played 175 games, contributing to the team's premiership win in 2022. Standing at 186cm, he was known for his skills as a lockdown defender. His transition to West Coast is expected to mirror Duncan's path in player development.

The Eagles' WAFL side showed notable improvement in the 2026 season, finishing seventh with 10 wins and 8 losses, marking their best performance since joining the league in 2019.
