Jed Bews Open to AFL Return After Signing with WAFL Eagles
Jed Bews, a defender who previously played for Geelong, has indicated he would be open to resuming his AFL career with West Coast if the team requires experienced players in 2027.
After being delisted following his 13th season with Geelong, where he played 175 games and won a premiership, Bews signed a contract with the WAFL Eagles. Despite not playing a senior game in 2026 and spending time in the VFL, he has not dismissed the possibility of returning to the top level if an opportunity arises.
Bews mentioned that he had prepared to leave Geelong a year prior but was surprised to receive another contract. He aims to assist younger players at the Eagles, similar to his previous role at Geelong. His former teammate, Mitch Duncan, who is now an assistant coach at West Coast, played a role in attracting Bews to the club.
