Jed York, Owner of 49ers, Arrested in Ohio Sting Operation

Jed York, the owner of the San Francisco 49ers, was arrested in Ohio after engaging in a sting operation where he communicated with a woman he thought was a prostitute. This incident occurred over two days, culminating in his arrest after he arrived at a mobile home park in East Palestine.

According to a police report, York used an alias and inquired about the woman's services, agreeing to a fee of $160. Upon his arrival, he was intercepted by police, who seized the cash and confirmed his identity through text messages. York was charged initially with engaging in prostitution, but this was later amended to disorderly conduct.

He pleaded no contest to both charges and received a one-day jail sentence, which he had already served, along with a fine of $1,150. The NFL is reviewing the situation under its personal conduct policy, while the 49ers have stated that the legal matter is resolved and will not comment further. Coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that he does not expect York's arrest to affect team operations.
