Jeff Cobb returned to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) on Sunday during the G1 Climax 36 finale, marking his first appearance since April 2025. During the event, he turned on Callum Newman and aligned himself with Unbound Co.

Cobb's return follows his release from WWE, which occurred during the post-WrestleMania 42 cuts. He had debuted in WWE shortly after his last NJPW appearance, assisting Solo Sikoa at Backlash.
