Jeffery Simmons Ejected from Titans Practice for Punching Teammate

During a practice session on Tuesday, the Tennessee Titans' coaching staff removed defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons after he threw a punch at teammate JC Latham during a scuffle. Following the incident, Simmons continued to work on a separate field under the supervision of a strength coach.

The altercation occurred early in team drills when the offensive and defensive lines engaged in a post-play confrontation. Initially, Simmons was involved with center Austin Schlottmann before he swung at Latham. Assistant defensive line coach Tanzel Smart intervened, leading to Simmons' ejection by head coach Robert Saleh, who halted practice to address the team.

Simmons was the only player ejected, as Saleh aimed to reinforce the team's policy against fighting. He noted that Simmons would still complete his practice work on the side. This incident marks a continuation of tensions between Simmons and Latham, who had previously clashed during training camp. Saleh acknowledged the competitive nature of practice but stressed the importance of discipline and maintaining focus.
