Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Bryan Thomas Jr. Ejected for Non-Football Actions
During the Eagles-Jaguars game in London on Sunday morning, linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr. were ejected following the opening kickoff, which was nullified by offsetting penalties.
Referee Ron Torbert clarified that the players were disqualified for engaging in continuous non-football actions after the play concluded. He noted that no punches were thrown, and the decision was made independently by the officiating crew with league office confirmation.
The NFL will review the incident for potential further discipline, although a suspension is considered less likely since both players missed the entire game, apart from the kickoff that did not count.
