Jeremiyah Love Suffers High Ankle Sprain, Cardinals Hope for Week 1 Return
Jeremiyah Love, a rookie running back for the Arizona Cardinals, suffered a high ankle sprain during his preseason debut. The injury occurred on his final play of the game, and he is expected to miss the remainder of the preseason, with hopes for a return in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 13.
During the game, Love showcased his skills, accumulating 72 yards from scrimmage on 14 touches. However, after the game, head coach Mike LaFleur indicated that Love's condition was worse than initially thought, stating he would not practice that week or participate in the second preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cardinals have signed Tyler Allgeier as a backup, while veteran James Conner and rookie Trey Benson are also part of the running back rotation, both dealing with injuries. Love's absence could impact the team's plans as they navigate their roster ahead of the regular season.
