Jerry Jones Supports Tony Romo After CBS Departure and Arrest
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed strong support for Tony Romo during his weekly radio segment on 105.3 The Fan, highlighting his optimism for Romo's future after the former quarterback's recent departure from CBS and a drunk driving arrest.
Jones emphasized the personal bond he shares with Romo, stating that he values their relationship and is proud of Romo's contributions to the NFL. He acknowledged Romo's mistakes but believes he has the potential for a bright future ahead. Following his OWI arrest in July, Romo was placed on indefinite leave and officially parted ways with CBS last week, with J.J. Watt stepping into his role alongside Jim Nantz.
Romo, who joined CBS in 2017 and signed a significant contract extension in 2020, is now exploring new opportunities while still receiving a substantial portion of his remaining $72 million contract with the network. He plans to take some time off to address the consequences of his recent arrest.
