Jerry Sandusky Asserts Innocence as Accuser Plans to Recant Testimony

Jerry Sandusky has responded to news that Ryan Rittmeyer, one of his accusers, is expected to recant his testimony against him. Rittmeyer, who is now known by his name, submitted an affidavit in 2025 indicating he lacked a clear memory of the alleged abuse.

In a phone interview from SCI-Laurel Highlands in Pennsylvania, Sandusky maintained his innocence, describing his conviction as a result of personal agendas and financial motivations. He has sought to overturn his convictions since his 2012 trial, where he was found guilty on multiple counts of sexual abuse involving ten boys.

Sandusky's upcoming evidentiary hearing is scheduled for September 8, where he aims to present claims that prosecutors manipulated testimonies and failed to disclose inconsistencies from accusers. He expressed a desire to clear his name and return home to his family.
