Jess Hull and Cam Myers Achieve Second Place Finishes at Ultimate Championship

Jess Hull and Cameron Myers finished second in the 5,000m and 1,500m events, respectively, at the Ultimate Championship held in Budapest. This marked the conclusion of the inaugural athletics meet, where both athletes showcased strong performances.

Hull bounced back from a disappointing ninth place in the 1,500m, achieving a personal best time of 14 minutes and 32.39 seconds in the 5,000m, finishing behind Ethiopian runner Likina Amebaw. Meanwhile, Myers, who had previously won the Diamond League final, ran a strategic race but ultimately placed second to Commonwealth Games mile champion Josh Kerr, clocking 3:29.68.

Despite their commendable efforts, Australia concluded the event without any victories. The meet also saw the withdrawal of 21-year-old Torrie Lewis from the 200m due to injury, and the absence of Norwegian athlete Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who had previously won the 5,000m.
