Jesse Love Reflects on Kyle Busch's Kindness After First NASCAR Win
Jesse Love, a driver for Richard Childress Racing, celebrated his first win of the 2026 NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts season at WWT Raceway. Following his victory, Love honored the late Kyle Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup champion, by displaying a No. 8 flag, commemorating Busch's final Cup win at the same venue.
During the winner's press conference, Love recounted a poignant moment reflecting on Busch's kindness and support. He shared that he had intended to reach out to Busch for advice ahead of the Darlington race, but was unable to do so after Busch's sudden passing in May at the age of 41. Love expressed deep feelings of loss and frustration over a previous race at Charlotte, where he felt robbed of a potential victory.
Love described his determination to win for Busch, emphasizing the impact the late driver had on his life and career. He noted that Busch was always willing to help others, and he regretted not being able to seek his guidance anymore.
