Jessica Hawkins Anticipates Female F1 Driver in Coming Years

Jessica Hawkins, an ambassador for Aston Martin and former W Series racer, believes that a woman could compete in Formula 1 within a few years. She supports the F1 Academy as a crucial platform for nurturing talent capable of securing positions on the F1 grid.

During a discussion on the Road to Success podcast, Hawkins shared her optimism about the future of female drivers in F1. She noted her experience testing the Aston Martin AMR21 in Hungary in 2023, marking her as the first woman in nearly five years to drive modern F1 machinery.

Hawkins dismissed concerns regarding physical strength as a barrier for women in F1, attributing her neck discomfort during testing to a lack of recent racing experience rather than gender. She emphasized that the F1 Academy offers vital track time and visibility for aspiring female drivers, which was previously lacking in motorsport.
