Jets Confirm Cade Klubnik as Backup Quarterback
The New York Jets have announced that they will keep rookie Cade Klubnik as their backup quarterback, following their decision not to claim any quarterbacks off waivers on Monday.
Klubnik, who was a fourth-round pick, has made the 53-man roster and is set to serve as the backup to starter Geno Smith. Head coach Aaron Glenn expressed confidence in Klubnik's abilities during a press conference, stating that he believes Klubnik will perform well in the role.
During the preseason, Klubnik completed 21 of 34 passes for 190 yards and one interception. His college career included three years as a starter at Clemson, although he was drafted later than expected due to a decline in performance in his final season.
