Jets Cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers Released from Hospital

Qwan’tez Stiggers, a cornerback for the Jets, was taken off the practice field on a stretcher on Tuesday, prompting concern. However, the team has confirmed that he has been released from the hospital and is now recovering at home.

Stiggers was hospitalized for a few hours after fainting on the sidelines during practice. The cause of his fainting is currently unknown, and there is no update on when he may return to practice.

The 24-year-old is entering his third season with the Jets. He has an inspiring background, having transitioned from high school football to the Fan Controlled Football league, then to the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL, where he was named the Most Outstanding Rookie in 2023. The Jets selected him in the 2024 draft, marking him as the first player in 25 years to be drafted by the NFL after playing in the CFL. Last season, Stiggers participated in 15 games, starting four on defense and contributing significantly on special teams.
