Jets Place Draft Picks on Injured Reserve and Finalize Roster
The Jets have placed two of their draft picks, Anez Cooper and VJ Payne, on injured reserve while finalizing their initial 53-man roster on Sunday.
Anez Cooper, a sixth-round guard, and VJ Payne, a seventh-round safety, have been designated for return and will be eligible to return after the first four games of the regular season. Additionally, linebacker Tyler Baron will remain on the physically unable to perform list and is also out for the first four games.
Other players, including cornerback Tre Brown, running back Chip Trayanum, and linebacker Mykal Walker, have been placed on injured reserve without the option to return this season. The Jets also waived or released a number of players, including DB Mory Bamba and QB Bailey Zappe, among others.
