Jets Waive Cade York, Leaving Jason Sanders as Sole Kicker
The New York Jets have waived Cade York, concluding the team's kicking competition and leaving Jason Sanders as the sole kicker on the roster.
York's release follows a preseason where both he and Sanders faced challenges, with York missing a field goal in a recent game while Sanders successfully converted two field goals. Although Sanders is currently the only kicker, the Jets may still seek to acquire another before the regular season begins.
York, who joined the Jets in March, has previously played for several teams including the Browns and Titans. Sanders, who missed last season due to a hip injury, had been with the Dolphins before being released and subsequently claimed by the Jets after a brief stint with the Giants.
