Evans noted that he encountered Lesnar during the 2026 Men's Royal Rumble, where he endured an F5 from the veteran. He also mentioned his history with Oba Femi, having faced him multiple times in the WWE NXT brand while unsuccessfully challenging for the NXT Championship.

In the Royal Rumble, Evans lasted 40 minutes, the longest of any participant, before being eliminated by Randy Orton. Lesnar and Femi later competed against each other in a series of matches, culminating in Femi's victory, shortly before Lesnar's retirement.
