Jezelle 'GG' Banks Commits to South Carolina Gamecocks

Jezelle 'GG' Banks, ranked fourth in the 2027 recruiting class by 247Sports, announced her commitment to South Carolina on Saturday. The point guard from Wilmington, Delaware, opted for the Gamecocks, coached by Dawn Staley, over offers from Texas and LSU.

During her recruitment, Banks appreciated the honesty of Staley and her staff, stating they made her feel at home and focused on her development as both a player and a person. This summer, Banks gained significant attention, winning the WNBA All-Star Shooting Stars competition and achieving viral status with her highlight reel.

Under Staley's guidance, South Carolina has become a dominant force in women's basketball, securing three national championships and consistently reaching the Final Fours. Banks' commitment strengthens the team's backcourt, addressing a key position need for the future.
