Jim Ross Prepares for Brain Surgery, Expresses Gratitude to Fans
Jim Ross, a WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW commentator, is preparing for brain surgery scheduled for Wednesday. He had previously disclosed the need for this surgery in July and recently shared details on social media, expressing gratitude to fans for their support.
The procedure involves drilling a hole in his skull to insert a tube that will help manage and drain excess brain fluid, likely a brain shunt. This method is designed to alleviate pressure within the skull by directing fluid to the stomach, where it can be safely absorbed.
Ross mentioned that he expects to spend only one day in the hospital following the surgery, which he found surprising for a brain operation. He recently returned home after a month-long hospital stay for an undisclosed medical issue. Additionally, he noted that his AEW contract is set to expire this month, with his last appearance at an AEW pay-per-view event occurring in May.
