JJ Jansen Sets Record for Most Games Played by a Long Snapper
JJ Jansen of the Carolina Panthers is set to become the NFL's all-time leader in games played by a long snapper, reaching 282 games during the upcoming match against the Philadelphia Eagles.
This milestone will break the previous record held by Trey Junkin. Jansen, who is 40 years old, began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers in 2008 but was later traded to the Panthers in 2009, where he has remained ever since.
Jansen has played the second-most games among active players, trailing only Ravens defensive end Calais Campbell. If both players participate in all games this season, Jansen could finish with 294 games, placing him 18th in NFL history. He has played all his games with the Panthers and aims to surpass the record for most games with one team, currently held by Jason Hanson.
