Joan Mir Discusses Illness Impacting MotoGP Season
Joan Mir, the former MotoGP world champion, has shared insights regarding the medical condition that led to his absence from the last four races of the season. He is set to return to competition in Malaysia this weekend.
During a media briefing at Sepang, Mir explained that he had been experiencing fatigue and vision problems prior to his time off, which began to escalate before the San Marino Grand Prix in September. He acknowledged that these issues contributed to his struggles on the track, including a troubling pattern of falls during races.
Mir clarified that he was discussing his symptoms rather than providing a formal diagnosis. He expressed a desire to compete but recognized the importance of being fit to race, noting that participating while unwell would not be beneficial.
