Joaquin Buckley Announces Retirement After Final Fight
Joaquin Buckley, a prominent UFC welterweight, has announced his retirement at the age of 32, planning to have one final fight before stepping away from the sport.
After a successful transition to the welterweight division in 2023, Buckley achieved six consecutive victories but has since faced three losses, including a recent knockout by Mike Malott in Edmonton, Canada. This defeat, coupled with concerns from his family, particularly his grandmother, prompted him to make the decision to retire.
Before his knockout loss, Buckley had lost by unanimous decision to Kamaru Usman and Sean Brady. He is also known for delivering one of the most memorable knockouts in MMA history against Impa Kasanganay.
