The round was impacted by strong winds, causing delays that prevented some players from finishing before nightfall. Niemann's closest competitors, Shane Lowry and Shaun Norris, ended the day with scores of 67, while three others were at 3-under but had holes remaining to complete.

Niemann, who has a record of nine victories in the LIV Golf League, noted the challenges posed by the windy conditions, which made precision crucial. The Irish Open features a total purse of $6 million and will continue through Sunday.
