Joe Burrow Comments on Jayden Daniels' Legal Dispute with LSU
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is pursuing legal action against LSU, where he previously played. He has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the university, requesting that they stop using his name, image, and likeness, particularly after cornerback D.J. Pickett was assigned his No. 5 jersey. Daniels is also demanding the return of the Heisman Trophy he won while at LSU.
Joe Burrow, a former LSU player and Heisman Trophy winner himself, was asked for his opinion on the matter following a preseason game with the Cincinnati Bengals. He stated that he was not well-informed about the situation and had only heard about it shortly before the interview. Burrow mentioned that while there have been discussions regarding the retirement of his No. 9 jersey, nothing has been formalized.
Burrow emphasized that comparisons between players should be avoided, noting his own successful college career, which included a national championship, while suggesting that Daniels' current actions might complicate his legacy.
