Joe Milton Impresses as Cowboys Secure Victory Over Cardinals
In Glendale, Arizona, Joe Milton delivered a strong performance in his bid to become the Dallas Cowboys' backup quarterback, contributing to a 34-13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
Milton completed 9 of 13 passes for 176 yards, including touchdown throws of 53 yards to Jonathan Mingo and 70 yards to Camden Brown, who set up Milton's own 1-yard rushing touchdown. The Cowboys established a 24-6 lead by halftime, with Jaydon Blue adding 75 rushing yards.
Despite Milton's impressive showing, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that the competition for the backup role against Sam Howell is ongoing. Howell completed 7 of 10 passes for 65 yards but threw an interception. The Cardinals' Gardner Minshew played the first half, completing 19 of 23 passes for 177 yards, while the team faced setbacks with two touchdowns called back due to penalties.
