Joe Milton Impresses in Cowboys QB Competition
The Dallas Cowboys have confirmed Dak Prescott as their starting quarterback, but the team is still evaluating candidates for the backup position.
In a recent game against the Cardinals, Joe Milton started and performed well, completing 9 of 13 passes for 179 yards and one touchdown. He was later replaced by Sam Howell, who went 7 of 10 for 65 yards with one interception. Milton had previously shown promise in the preseason opener, leading head coach Brian Schottenheimer to acknowledge his strong performance over the last two games while also stating that the competition is far from settled.
Milton, who joined the Cowboys late in the 2025 preseason, expressed that he has noticed significant improvement in his game compared to the previous year. The team plans to continue assessing both quarterbacks as they return to training camp.
