Joe Morgan, Former Red Sox Manager, Dies at 95

Joe Morgan, a former player and manager for the Boston Red Sox, died on Saturday at the age of 95. He is best remembered for leading the team from 1988 to 1991, during which they secured two AL East titles.

Born in Walpole, Massachusetts, Morgan began his professional career with the Braves in 1952. After serving in the military and spending time in the minors, he made his MLB debut in 1959. He played for several teams, including the Braves, Athletics, and Phillies, before transitioning to a managerial role in the Pirates' farm system in 1966.

After a successful stint managing the Pawtucket Red Sox, Morgan joined Boston's coaching staff in 1985.
