Joe Rogan Critiques UFC's Pay Structure

Joe Rogan has voiced his criticism of the UFC's compensation model, suggesting that the organization should enhance guaranteed payouts rather than linking a significant portion of fighter earnings to win bonuses.

During a recent podcast, Rogan highlighted the financial risks fighters face under the current show-win payment system, particularly affecting those on the undercard who may see their earnings halved if they lose. He argued that the existing structure unfairly penalizes competitors, as their preparation and physical toll remain constant regardless of the fight outcome.

While the UFC has been gradually moving towards offering more guaranteed money, many contracts still adhere to the traditional show-win split. Recent agreements for top fighters, however, tend to include larger base salaries along with performance incentives instead of simply doubling the payout for a victory.

This weekend, UFC 330 will feature Islam Makhachev defending his lightweight title against Ian Garry in the main event.
