Joe Rogan has indicated that Islam Makhachev might consider retirement following his title defense against Ian Garry at UFC 330 on Saturday. During a discussion on the JRE MMA Show, Rogan mentioned that Makhachev has accomplished enough in his career to justify stepping away from the sport.

Makhachev, who has previously held the lightweight title, has only one loss since 2015. Rogan noted that if Makhachev were to win against Garry, he might choose to follow in the footsteps of his mentor Khabib Nurmagomedov and transition into coaching.
