Joe Root Addresses Batting Struggles While Pursuing Tendulkar's Record
Joe Root has responded to concerns regarding his recent batting performance during the English summer, asserting that his extensive experience provides him with the confidence to navigate this challenging period as he seeks to surpass Sachin Tendulkar's record of 15,921 Test runs.
This summer, Root has only managed to score over 50 runs on two occasions, resulting in an average of 29.44, marking one of his lowest averages at home since his international debut. He has faced dismissal LBW nine times in his last seven Tests, with seven of those occurring this summer.
Root attributes some of his struggles to difficult playing conditions, noting that the Dukes ball has changed this season, affecting its performance. Despite these challenges, he remains optimistic about improving his form and continuing to contribute to his team's success.
