Joe Skipper and Tomás Rodriguez Hernández Face ADRV Suspensions
The International Testing Agency (ITA) has announced suspensions for triathletes Joe Skipper and Tomás Rodriguez Hernández due to anti-doping rule violations. Skipper, a UK professional triathlete, was found guilty of three whereabouts failures within a twelve-month period, resulting in an 18-month ineligibility period and disqualification of all results since May 15, 2025.
Skipper, who has been part of the IRONMAN Registered Testing Pool since 2016, had three missed tests recorded between July 1, 2024, and May 15, 2025. The hearing panel confirmed the violation on August 17, 2026, with the suspension starting on May 18, 2026. All competitive results from Skipper since May 15, 2025, have been annulled, including forfeiture of prize money.
Tomás Rodriguez Hernández, a Mexican athlete known for his victory at IRONMAN Texas in 2024, accepted a two-year suspension after testing positive for clomifene, a substance that enhances testosterone production. Initially, he contested the suspension, claiming dietary contamination, but ultimately accepted the ban, which expired on June 5, 2026. A recent notice indicated a provisional suspension for Rodriguez Hernández due to a violation of participation rules during his ineligibility.
