Joey Logano Secures Pole Position at Gateway with Record Margin
Joey Logano claimed the pole position at WWT Raceway (Gateway) during a challenging qualifying session, setting a time of 32.817 seconds. This performance marked the largest pole margin in NASCAR Cup qualifying since 2017, with Logano finishing 0.276 seconds ahead of Kyle Larson.
Logano's impressive lap was a significant achievement, as he emphasized the importance of starting strong to maximize points. Ryan Blaney qualified third, followed by Christopher Bell in fourth and Chase Briscoe in fifth. The top ten also included Carson Hocevar, Bubba Wallace, Chase Elliott, Ty Gibbs, and Denny Hamlin, who leads the championship.
Despite tricky track conditions, no incidents occurred during qualifying. Several drivers, including Alex Bowman, who qualified 11th, and others in the Chase, faced challenges but managed to secure their positions without major mishaps.
