Joey Logano's Early Racing Career Involved a Forged Birth Certificate
Joey Logano recounted an unusual chapter from his childhood racing career during an appearance on the Racin' With the Boys podcast. At the age of 10, his father forged a birth certificate to enable him to compete against older racers, as Logano was eager to face tougher competition.
Logano's father, who previously owned a garbage company in Connecticut, dedicated himself to supporting his son's racing ambitions. They aimed to advance Logano's skills by entering him in races against older competitors. However, the plan to submit a forged birth certificate was ultimately discovered when officials found both the original and altered documents, preventing Logano from racing that day.
Despite this setback, Logano continued to excel in racing, eventually becoming a three-time champion and now aiming for a fourth title in the Cup Series.
