He has not secured a contract extension beyond his rookie deal, which expires after this season, and expressed uncertainty about playing without a new contract.

Porter, who was drafted 32nd overall in 2023, has recorded 31 passes defended and three interceptions in his career. The Steelers' general manager has stated that the team will not engage in contract negotiations during the season, setting a deadline for discussions before the first game.
