John Holobetz's Performance in His First Full Season with the Red Sox

John Holobetz, a 24-year-old right-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, had a significant first full season in the organization, throwing more innings than all but one other minor leaguer in 2026.

After starting the season with a strong 2.45 ERA in his first four starts for Double-A Portland, Holobetz faced challenges with a 7.99 ERA in his next six outings. However, he rebounded with a 2.97 ERA over seven appearances before being promoted to Triple-A Worcester on July 28.

In Worcester, he finished the season with a 3.57 ERA across nine appearances. Overall, Holobetz recorded a 4.07 ERA with 132 strikeouts over 119 1/3 innings. He is currently ranked as Boston's No. 9 prospect and is expected to return to Worcester's rotation for the 2027 season.
