John McEntee Appointed Manager of Monaghan GAA

John McEntee has been appointed as the new manager of Monaghan GAA, taking over from Gabriel Bannigan. His appointment was confirmed during a county board meeting on Monday night.

McEntee, a former All-Ireland winner with Armagh in 2002, previously managed the Inniskeen club for four seasons. He expressed excitement about the new role, stating that he felt privileged to be chosen and was ready to give his best effort.

Under Bannigan's leadership, Monaghan achieved a Division Two title in 2025 and reached consecutive All-Ireland quarter-finals. However, they faced relegation from Division One this year after a challenging league season. Despite some successes in the Ulster SFC, including victories over Cavan and Derry, they were ultimately defeated by Armagh in the final.
