Jolyon Palmer Critiques Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton for Missed Opportunities
Jolyon Palmer, a former Formula 1 driver, has criticized Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton for not taking advantage of Mercedes' vulnerabilities this season. He described their recent mistakes as quite careless, which has prevented them from closing the gap in the championship standings.
Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli currently leads Hamilton by 50 points after six victories, with 12 races left in the season. Palmer pointed out that Ferrari missed significant chances, particularly during the British Grand Prix when Antonelli faced reliability issues. He noted that penalties incurred by Hamilton, including a jump start and an early pit lane speed limiter release, have further hampered their performance.
While Palmer acknowledged Hamilton's impressive driving, he expressed concern over lapses in concentration that have led to unnecessary penalties. He emphasized that for Ferrari to contend for the championship, they must maximize every point and eliminate these errors in future races.
