Jon Rahm Declines Participation in LIV Golf 2.0
Jon Rahm has announced that he will not participate in LIV Golf 2.0, a plan led by CEO Scott O'Neil aimed at sustaining the league through 2027.
Rahm's attorney stated that after reviewing the proposed terms, Rahm found them unacceptable. The two parties are currently negotiating a separation agreement, which is expected to be finalized by October 15. If an agreement is not reached, they will return to court on November 5 to discuss the rejection of Rahm's contract.
At 31 years old, Rahm recently secured his third consecutive individual title in LIV Golf. He has a contract reportedly worth over $100 million, with multiple years still remaining. LIV Golf, which was initially funded by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, is undergoing restructuring with BC Partners Advisors following its bankruptcy filing in September.
Rahm, currently ranked 15th in the world, has had a successful season, winning events in Hong Kong and Mexico City. He has withdrawn from the Spanish Open as he and his wife await the birth of their fourth child.
