Jon Rahm Exits LIV Golf 2.0 Amid Bankruptcy Proceedings
Jon Rahm has announced he will not join LIV Golf 2.0, marking a significant loss for the league as it attempts to recover from bankruptcy.
This decision was revealed during a bankruptcy hearing, where Rahm's lawyer stated that the terms of the new league were deemed unacceptable by the golfer. Rahm is listed as the top unsecured creditor, owed over $7 million for the third quarter of 2026.
Following the bankruptcy filing, players, including Rahm, were allowed to exit the tour without obligations to sign for the new iteration. Rahm plans to explore other opportunities, while the PGA Tour has yet to engage in negotiations with LIV players until their contractual situations are clarified. Rahm has also withdrawn from the Spanish Open to focus on family matters as he prepares for the birth of his fourth child.
